Southern Fried Cornbread (Hoecakes)
Golden, crispy edges with a soft, tender center—pure Southern comfort in every bite
There’s nothing more comforting than classic Southern fried cornbread, also known as hoecakes. Simple pantry ingredients come together to create a crispy, golden crust with a fluffy inside that pairs perfectly with collard greens, beans, fried chicken, or a bowl of soup. This old-fashioned favorite is quick, easy, and full of down-home flavor—just the way Grandma made it.
