Muslim teacher Rintik is desperate to go to Sumba to teach. He falls in love with Sumba and a young man, Arsa, even though many of them have different beliefs from Rintik himself. Can they unite in differences?

I love this good movie. Realizing that "everyone has the right to choose their own way of life". This is Amanda Rawles' first hijabi movie. Her character is gentle, polite, motherly, principled, and inspiring. The Notebook plot is quite complex. Starting from the romance of strangers with local residents, matchmaking for minors, poor children dropping out of school for money, to religious tolerance. Set in NTT, Indonesia, Notebook shows how friendly the people of Sumba are to immigrants and minorities, as well as their preserved natural beauty. bgm Kumau Dia - Andmesh Kamaleng. My favorite quote is from Rawles as Mrs. Rintik, "it's never too soon or too late for happiness,"
