Dark Side: Riku Rantala & Kale Puonti - Season 1

A woman from the Herlin industrialist family vanishes from her own home—a place that ought to be the safest in the world. The suspect is someone few would have thought to fear. One of Finland’s most notorious kidnapping cases sets off a chilling chain of events. How does a woman from Helsinki end up in a Turku apartment containing a mysterious, soundproofed cubicle?

The 1990s: a recession is battering Finland. Banks are reeling under the pressure, and there is an unease in the air that is hard to put into words. In times like these, crimes are not merely acts; they are signs of something greater. And it is precisely then that a bank robbery occurs—one that stands apart from all the rest. Not just because of its audacity. Not just because of the precision with which it was planned.

The evening by the Porvoo seaside begins peacefully, but a shadow cast on the sand reveals a grim reality. Seija, a hairdresser, has been murdered. The killer is found surprisingly close to home. Dinner—minced meat patties and blueberry quark—takes on a chilling new meaning as the truth begins to unfold.
