Judges Michael Napthali, Chris Moss, and Jackie O launch a massive nationwide talent search. Over 2,500 women queue up at open auditions across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, performing brief acapella snippets to survive the initial cut.

Contenders from each state return for intense second-round auditions, where vocal consistency and dance potential are put under a microscope before flight tickets to Sydney are handed out.

The top contenders arrive in Sydney for an exhausting boot camp. The girls are pushed through non-stop vocal coaching with Erana Clark, complex choreography sessions, and high-stress group performances as judges evaluate their endurance and teamwork under pressure.

Tensions peak as the remaining candidates perform individual showcases and final group harmonies for the judges. The panel deliberates behind closed doors, making the tough final cuts to lock in the initial five members.
