The Legend of White Snake - Season 1

On a quest to understand humanity, Bai Suzhen starts off by challenging the expertise of physician Xu Xian but finds a rival named Qing ready for her.

After Bai ponders an intervention to heal a strangely sick mother, a noble decision by Xu captures her attention.

Chaos erupts at the Lantern Festival, forcing Bai to defy the heavens. Meanwhile, fighting monk Fahai finds out why the city's children are missing.

With an assist from an old friend named Jingsong, Bai attempts to find the missing children and learns the truth about the powerful culprit.

Bai fights the powerful culprit with a crew of former adversaries and later tests Xu's integrity when she gets suspicious of the people around him.

At Xu's family dinner, Bai must act as a mere mortal but faces friction from his longtime admirer, Jin Ruyi.

While Officer Li Gongfu faces roadblocks in a murder investigation, Jingsong urges Bai to make a life-changing decision for her own well-being.

Xu challenges Bai's decision with a declaration, prompting foxy responses from Ruyi and a new enemy known as Hu Kexin.

Suspicious of Xu's shocking behavior, Jingsong and Qing take action, which leads to a swift response from Bai and a fatal result.

When Bai finds herself caught in a public trial, Xu makes a desperate push to proclaim her innocence.

Jingsong gives Kexin an ultimatum. Bai finally learns the motives behind the murder that shook up Xu's life and the entire city.

When Xu becomes mysteriously ill after the city averts disaster, Bai seeks an antidote that will require tremendous sacrifice.

Bai's major sacrifice forges a new path with Xu but leads to suspicion and displeasure from Officer Li, Ruyi and Jingsong.

After Bai and Xu make their new path official, she discovers a secret regarding his finances and wonders how to respond.

Bai and Xu start an emerging venture that draws an unscrupulous response from Prime Minister Liang, threatening their lives.

As a hunter named Zhang Yutang occupies Qing's mind, Xu and Bai investigate the murky nature of a plague that profits Ruyi's clinic.

Wang Daoling, Ruyi's new physician, must reveal his real identity when Xu and Bai's investigation into the new plague breaks wide open.

When Daoling finally discloses Bai's hidden identity to Ruyi, she plots to keep Xu away from Bai with the assistance of an unaware Fahai.

Ruyi's plan unexpectedly puts Xu's life in jeopardy, pushing Bai to rescue him by searching for a solution in a prohibited land.

Bai finds trouble in the prohibited land and makes a dire plea, but granting this request will change her and Xu's lives forever.

As Xu struggles with his new way of life, Bai makes a firm decision to alleviate his suffering at the expense of her own pain.

Everyone moves forward from Bai's decision except for Xu, who makes a startling revelation that rocks Ruyi to the core.

Xu indulgently dotes on Bai with uncharacteristic behavior, leading her to search for the true reason behind his actions.

Yutang considers an offer to get closer to Qing while Ruyi conspires with Daoling to dispose of Bai using someone from her inner circle.

After an unwanted beggar gives Bai and Xu a surprise for treating him, Qing tries to reveal Ruyi's secret but gets unexpected news about herself.

With growing concerns about Qing's relationship with Yutang, Bai makes an appeal to the immortal Dragon King.

Qing searches for a way to solidify her situation with Yutang, but Fahai's battle with the Mind Demon and Bai's fate could thwart her quest.

While Bai and Xu assist Fahai in his fight against the Mind Demon, Qing must decide if she will forever alter her relationship with Yutang to save him.

Daoling conspires to pit Xu against his close friend while the Mind Demon possesses the body of someone in Xu's inner circle.

After Bai helps Xu understand his past so he can expose Prime Minister Liang, Xu's sister Jiaorong gets good news that Bai knows is secretly tainted.

Certain of Bai's intentions, Xu makes a bold decision that he hopes will preserve the future of his sister Jiarong and her family.

Misunderstandings and powerful truths are revealed when an attempt to save Jiaorong leaves everyone else reeling, especially Bai.

Xu undergoes a dangerous experiment to reverse a tragedy while Qing's vengeful spirit requires a major intervention.

As the truth about the spiritual world spreads through the city, the question of mortality faces Bai and Ruyi with new lives at stake for each of them.

Xu and Fahai consider the only option to stop the Mind Demon from destroying the city, but it requires the ultimate sacrifice -- and hiding it from Bai.

A final effort to stop the Mind Demon requires an intervention that forces heaven and earth to collide, bringing lasting rewards and punishments.
