Very serious car story

One worrying point was raised, however: most of the high school students on board were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, according to the driver’s statements. This negligence could have had tragic consequences.

This latest accident brings back vivid memories of the tragedy in Châteaudun, which occurred a month earlier, on January 30th. On that day, another school bus overturned on the side of the RD92, killing a high school student. The driver tested positive for drugs, and a medical and psychological support unit had to be deployed to assist the students.

Since then, stricter controls have been demanded by ministers Philippe Tabarot (Transport) and Gérald Darmanin (Interior) in order to regulate school transport more strictly at the national level.
